Early Orthodontic Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive their first orthodontic screening by age 7. That's because while traditional orthodontic treatment such as braces might not begin until adolescence, an early screening can identify problems with jaw growth, speech difficulties, tooth placement and other oral development issues that may require treatment starting at a younger age. Dr. Dan Rozen and the team at Lighthouse Point Orthodontics love working with our youngest patients, helping them understand orthodontic procedures while making them feel they are in a comfortable and fun environment!
An early orthodontic treatment plan can:
- Guide jaw growth
- Lower the risk of trauma to protruded front teeth
- Correct harmful oral habits
- Improve appearance
- Guide permanent teeth into a more favorable position
- Create a more pleasing arrangement of teeth, lips and face
